Are you using actual screentones for the dots?
I made two sets of tones digitally with the GIMP then saved them and then copied them into their own layer in Photoshop where I used a clipping mask for each one under the line art layer. (Does that make sense to you?)
Short answer: They’re digital.

Nope. But I’ll check it out. Looks nifty!
