Not sure if this is inspired by Carl from Aquateen or aging hairy hipster dudes in W’burg…

(I’m going to say “hipster” given his completely disinterested facial expression).

I still remember the day I discovered Evan Dahm’s Rice Boy while surfing around the internet. I was wonderfully and pleasantly surprised that a webcomic of such quality AND quantity existed that I had never heard of before that day! Evan’s drawings are always lovely to look at, and the feelings he can induce from such simple lines is really amazing. I highly recommend checking out his stuff! Also, his books are self-published and WORTH EVERY PENNY. So if you have pennies to spare, the books are so much nicer to read than online. Plus, it’s good to support artists whose work you like (and whose work is as great as Evan’s)!
Those of you who know me might know just how much I dislike talk radio. I don’t know what it is, but it just puts me to sleep! HOWEVER, there IS one talk radio show that I listen to on a regular basis and that is INKSTUDS. Those of you who are in the comics know probably already know about Inkstuds. But for those of you who have never heard of it, it is a podcast hosted by Robin McConnell and based in Canada that has interviews with various cartoonists. I love to listen to this show while drawing, since it is both inspirational and also helps keep my eyes off of anything other than my work. As an extra awesome thing, Inkstuds also has mixtapes put together by various artists on the site, so when you’re not in the mood for talk, you can rock out to a carefully and lovingly selected list of songs. Basically, I love Inkstuds. So tonight, instead of sleeping, I knocked out a 1.5 hour tribute to my favorite podcast and the only talk radio I actually enjoy.
